New Year's Resolutions

HAPPY NEW YEAR! So, are you one of those persons who on January the 1st elaborates a long, long list of new year's resolutions? If you are, chances are some of those resolutions include eating better/quit smoking/do more sport/get healthier in general - - - apparently these four are the most popular resolutions in the planet, together with doing more volunteering work and get out of debt (yeah, I've done my research and all). Fortunately I'm not an economist, so unfortunately I can't help you with the debt bit. As for the voluteering and helping others, I can say it rocks, if you get involved in a cause that's important and means something special to you. The same thing happens with the "practising more sports" and "getting healthier" part: if you find a way to have fun with it, it will no longer feel like a "resolution", instead turning into something relaxing and lovely.
So, because I want us all to succeed in our new year's resolutions, here are some ideas and motivation. I've always been fascinated with the way sports and outdoors activities were such an important part of life in Hollywood during its Golden Age. These pictures look all so fun and glamourous... now there's no excuse to give up our new year's resolutions!

There's no doubt Kate Hepburn was ahead of her time... even in her sport choices

Grace Kelly enjoyed a relaxed spot of gardening

Fred Astaire... well, no need to say more, is there?

Clark Gable enjoyed fishing above all things. He often thought of retiring to just fish... luckily for us he didn't.

Bogart and Bacall in their boat, the Santana.

We already know Miss Monroe was not a dumb blonde. Now we know she wasn't weak either!

Gary Cooper

Greta Garbo was divine even when going for a run.

Joan Crawford

Marlon Brando jumping #Hunk

Jean Harlow being fabulous and enjoying it.

Clara Bow, fabulous too...

Cary Grant and Randolph Scott being hunks and knowing it.

Audrey Hepburn, all casual.

Lovely Rita Hayworth

Bacall, Bogie and Bogie's bike.

Barbara Stanwyck enjoying a game of tennis.

Chaplin was also a notorious tennis player.

Paul Newman and Robert Redford at the ping pong table.

Burt Lancaster and Audrey Hepburn practising golf during a shooting break.

Ava Gardner got swing

Kate Hepburn did too
